Description
Amblypygi comes from South America, Africa, Asia and Europe. In adulthood, its size varies from 5 to 55 mm in adulthood, depending on the species, and its longevity is around 10 years.
Handling
Amblypygi don’t appreciate being petted, because it’s unpleasant for them to be touched. However, it’s possible to hold it in your hands, while leaving them close to the ground. This is a fragile species and delicacy is important.
Did you know that there are more than a million known insects on earth!
Éducazoo holds a permit from the Government of Canada to keep and handle these specimens on the road.
Description
This arthropod comes from Vietnam. In adulthood, its size is 7 to 10 cm and its longevity is 12 to 15 months.
Handling
It’s not possible to pet the stick insect because it’s too delicate. However, it can be placed in your hands and move around. It’s a very interesting specie to observe, with its shape and color allowing it to effectively camouflage itself in trees.

A partnership with Environment Canada allows us to hold unique items seized at customs that come from poaching (ivory tusks, python skin, furs, sea turtle shells, etc.).
These pieces are used in some of our animations in order to sensitize the public to behave responsibly when consuming animal products. We also teach them the importance of wildlife conservation and the repercussions of poaching on animal populations.
