Joanie Asselin, M. Sc.

Owner and Biologist at Educazoo Inc.

Studies and research

Bachelor’s degree : Biology, specialization Ecology. University of Montreal and University of Nice Sophia Antipolis.
Master of Science : Research Master’s degree at the University of Montreal. Specialization in ichthyology and management of freshwater fish communities. Joanie’s studies were conducted as part of a study for the Ministry of Transportations. The recommendations and equations established by her study are now used in riparian management construction in Canada.
Conference : She is honing her scientific outreach skills by presenting research at several conferences around the world including : AFS 2014 – Quebec city, CCFFR Conference 2015 - Ottawa, ISE 2016 – Melbourne, Australia.

In 2014, at the age of 14, Joanie won the first Karv l’anti Gala for her passion for animals. Following this experience, she started as a columnist on several shows. Since then, Joanie specializes in science popularization and has participated in more than a hundred shows for over 15 years. Also owner of the family business since 2016, she has won several awards in entrepreneurship: Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, Public Vote, Entrepreneurial Succession, etc. To this day, she continues to share her passion through scientific articles as well as being a science columnist on several programs such as “Les Poilus” on Radio-Canada.Voir la bio complète: Call to action vers la page notre histoire

Roxanne Brunelle, B. Sc.

Bachelor : Bachelor of Science, Specialization in Animal Physiology.
Certificate : Animal Care.
Conferences : Has been teaching the basics of exotic animal care and disease to students in various AEP Animal Care cohorts for over 2 years.

TV set experience

Roxanne started in 2013 at Educazoo as a naturalist animator. In 2016, she began to get more involved in managing animals on TV sets and photo shoots. She has participated in many sets by supervising the handling of species so that it is ethical and safe. Roxanne also specializes in science outreach to different audiences and as a trainer for animal care students.
