Coco SAAQ commercial

Coco officially takes center stage in the brand-new campaign by the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec, titled “The street is not a zoo!”. Through dynamic short videos filled with animals, humor, and impactful messages, the campaign aims to remind the public of the importance of adopting predictable behaviors on the road.

Engaging capsules to promote good driving habits

Hosted by Joanie Lamoureux, these capsules use an accessible and memorable approach to talk about road safety. Coco appears alongside her on screen to illustrate, in his own unique way, why predictable actions—using turn signals, stopping properly, adjusting speed—are essential for everyone’s safety.

Here, the animal becomes a powerful awareness tool: he captures attention, makes people smile, and helps deliver a serious message without sounding preachy.

Coco in front of the camera: charisma, energy… and supervision

Coco loves being in the spotlight. Cameras, film crews, action—everything excites him, sometimes to the point where he chooses to put on a spontaneous performance rather than follow directions exactly. This expressive personality is what makes him so endearing on screen, but it also requires constant professional supervision.
That is why Joanie Asselin was present on set to ensure Coco’s well-being, guide his interactions, and make sure every scene respected his needs and limits.

Road safety and wildlife protection: a very real connection

For Éducazoo, taking part in this campaign went far beyond media visibility. Roads have a direct impact on animals: wildlife collisions, habitat fragmentation, and stress caused by noise and traffic. Raising awareness among road users also helps reduce these impacts on living beings.

Adopting predictable and responsible behaviors is not only about human safety—it is a concrete way to better coexist with the animals that share our territories.

When awareness goes hand in hand with responsibility

Coco’s presence in this campaign shows that it is entirely possible to include animals in large-scale productions while fully respecting their well-being. With rigorous supervision, ethical practices, and a clear educational intention, media projects can become powerful allies in changing behaviors.

Because on the road, as in nature, every action counts—for us, and for the animals.
