Much More Than a Reservation The Essential Work of Our Sales Team at Éducazoo

Much More Than a Reservation

How do you choose the right educational activity with animals? How much time should you allow so that every child can fully enjoy the experience? How can an activity be adapted to a group with special needs?

Behind every educational activity with animals, there is much more than just a reservation. Before a Naturalist even arrives on site, our sales team has already spent time understanding your needs, advising you and organizing the details that will make all the difference.

In this blog article, our biologist Roxanne Brunelle introduces you to the work of our Sales Assistants and our Sales Director, two essential roles in providing professional, high-quality activities that are adapted to participants and respectful of animal welfare.

Sales Assistant: much more than just taking reservations!

When a client contacts Éducazoo, our Sales and Accounting Assistants do more than simply present a list of packages. Their first instinct is to ask questions: how old are the participants? How many will there be? In what setting will the activity take place? What are the desired objectives?

This information allows them to recommend an activity with a package and animals that truly meets the client's expectations. Contrary to what you might think, the best package is not necessarily the longest or the most expensive!

For a children's birthday party with animals, for example, the participants' ages influence the choice of activity and its duration. A party for four-year-olds is not organized the same way as a party for ten-year-olds. Our assistants know the specific features of each package and can therefore guide parents toward an appropriate option.

The right package AND the right duration!

How much time should you allow for an activity with animals? This is a particularly important question!

A 60-minute activity with eight children does not offer the same opportunities as a 60-minute activity with 25 participants. Our assistants must therefore assess the number of people and the desired structure of the activity to recommend a realistic duration. The goal is to allow interactions with animals in an ethical and safe environment, without rushing the handling sessions. Every animal has its own needs, limits and behaviours, and the pace of the activity must take these into account.

Our assistants also consider details that clients may not always anticipate: available space, stairs, parking, noise levels, movement between groups and even the conditions of an outdoor activity.

Advice tailored to teachers and specialized groups

Which animal education activity should you choose for an elementary school? Our assistants can guide teachers toward educational themes adapted to the students' grade level and the concepts they wish to explore.

The goal is to establish connections with the learning objectives outlined in the Ministère de l'Éducation's Progression of Learning guide, particularly in science and technology. An activity about animal adaptations, for example, can provide a hands-on opportunity to explore the characteristics of living organisms and their relationships with their environment.

This ability to adapt is just as important when working with groups with special needs. Intellectual disability (ID), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), physical disabilities or language disorders: each group may require a different approach. The goal is always for participants to enjoy exactly the same experience as everyone else, regardless of their physical or cognitive health.

Our assistants take the time to speak with those responsible for the group to understand the participants' needs. Duration, pace, environment, accessibility and interaction methods can therefore all be considered in advance.

Preparation that supports the Naturalist in the field

Once the package has been selected, the work does not stop there! All relevant information must be included in the contract so that the Éducazoo Naturalist can properly prepare for the activity.

A particular characteristic of the group, difficult access to the building or a specific educational objective can influence how the activity unfolds. The more complete the information provided, the better the Naturalist can anticipate needs and adapt their approach.

It is a true team effort between sales and field operations. Our assistants create the conditions for a successful activity, while our Naturalists bring the experience to life for participants.

The Sales Director: a role focused on support and continuous improvement

Some requests require additional consideration. This is where our Sales Director, Catherine Paquette, steps in to support the assistants when a situation is more complex or unusual.

Her role includes ensuring that the packages offered reflect the realities of field operations. She also works to improve procedures, tools and available information so that the sales team can advise clients accurately.

But her work does not end once the activity is booked! Customer satisfaction follow-ups make it possible to gather feedback from participants and organizers, then identify potential improvements. This ongoing connection between sales, Naturalists and customer feedback directly contributes to the evolution of Éducazoo's services.

An experience that begins with the very first contact

When a Naturalist arrives at a school, daycare or children's birthday party, several steps have already been completed to prepare for that encounter.

Behind every animal activity reservation, our assistants have taken the time to listen, advise, organize and sometimes even find solutions to special requests.

Their work is essential to providing a professional, safe experience adapted to both participants and animals.

At Éducazoo, the quality of an activity therefore does not begin when the Naturalist arrives. It begins with the very first phone call, the first email and the first question asked by our sales team.
